For this week's blog post we are to reflect on what we have learned thus far in class, as well as share our impressions of our online learning experience. For starters, this is the first online class I have ever taken, and it has taken some time to adjust to. This is also the first class I have used blackboard with, and I feel as if I am always checking it to make sure I am not missing any assignments! The biggest challenge for me while taking this course has been staying on top of weekly blogging, and learning how to use the digital drop box application on blackboard.
In addition to taking this course this semester, I am also taking 2 more classes that meet weekly. Between the three classes and working full-time, it has been a busy semester! This class has been a lot of work, but I have been able to incorporate a majority of what I have learned into my own classroom. Going into this course, I thought I was comfortable with using technology in my classroom, but now I definitely feel more secure and have started to use it more (even with my young students!)

ReplyDeleteThank you for your feedback. You are very busy this semester but it will be great when all your coursework is done. Online classes take a bit getting used to, for me as well. I'm finally getting the hang of it but still worry that I'll forget something. I was petrified that on break I'd completely forget to post the weekly topic! Thank goodness I didn't. I'm glad that you are learning things that you can actually use since for me, that's the whole point!
I also am feeling a little better with technology and the assignments of this class. I know I won't shy away from online classes in the future so that is a good thing. It is good that you can take advantage of your new knowledge immediately. I still get so scared when I read the new assignments due. I never did any of these things.

Hi Ashley, you seem very busy! How do you do it?! I only substitute every day and teach night school a couple of times a week & I must admit it's quite overwhelming at times. However, it's all about time management especially with this online class. The other class I'm taking we only meet on Saturdays for a couple of hours. I think it's so cool that you can utilize the information your learning hands on with your young students right now. I can't wait to use more info with my own class one day. I have used many sites with my CCD kids and many of my adult students and they love it!
